Analysis

Synopsis

Ji Hyung Joo is a police officer. Because of one criminal, he loses his partner. Shin Ga Hyun is a very famous manhwa writer but becomes paralyzed after a hit-and-run. One day, Lee Shin calls them and offers them and a little group of people to go back one year in the past and to set things right. Hyung Joo and Ga Hyun accept. One year before, they are able to change their destiny but discover that other members of the group start dying mysteriously.

My Opinion (No Spoilers)

365: Repeat the Year is a 12-episode drama (so short) that is the Korean version of the Japanese drama called Wheel of Fortune. I won’t be going much into details, because I don’t want to spoil anything (especially reveal the identity of the puppet masters!).

I was pleasantly surprised to discover this drama, as it is not usually the kind I would naturally watch. Still, I decided to give it a chance and I have to say I made a very good decision! This drama was full of suspense, unpredicted and unexpected twists and turns and a sort of tension, that made me feel as if I belonged to the group. All characters have their own secrets and I found myself eager to know why they had actually decided to go back in time. Plus, a huge amount of questions came to my mind such as: Who is killing all of these people? How? How do they go back in time? How did they discover how to go back in time? etc…

Most mysteries were actually surrounding Lee Shin, as she is the one offering this time jump. Yet, we know nothing about her and her motivations. Each episode was giving me more information on the subject, which constantly brought new questions. The hunt after the serial killer is also very intriguing, we doubt everyone at every second of the drama.

365: Repeat The Year is nerve-wrecking and stressful, but I liked being a part of the investigation. If you like mystery dramas, I suggest you watch it!

P.S.: Did you know that Shin (from Lee Shin) literally means God/divinity? Don’t you think it is interesting to name her so, as she technically plays God by changing people’s fate through rewinds?
