My Opinion (No Spoilers)
OMG! Truth be told, this mini-drama has surpassed my expectations. For the first time in all my years watching drama, I have come across a Korean drama essentially centered on homosexuality. This boy love is incredible, the two leads play so well and we understand their characters’ respective reluctance in confessing their feelings. Plus, homosexuality is still very taboo in South Korea and I could really see the traditional Korean society embodied by Tae Joo’s dad.
Yet, I was so happy to see for the first time on screen a love story between two men, assuming their mutual feelings and – wait for it – actually kissing at the end!
Thank you Korea for opening up to societal themes on screen! By the way, Dramaland already has some dramas depicting (in an elusive way) homosexuality – Lee Jong Suk’s character in Secret Garden, Sweet Munchies, People With Flaws, Seonam Girls High School Investigators,… but it always stayed very hidden and shy in the production. So this drama has broken all my expectations by actually centering the plot around the development of our two characters’ feelings and acceptance!
Well done! Plus, the music is a bonus, the OSTs are really good!
My only regret, it is too short (8 episodes of 10 minutes) and some parts of the plot were really moving on to fast. I wish someday (and I hope) a 12/16/20-episode drama will entirely put forward the entire LGBTQ+ community. Even though it has started, it still needs a little push!
If you like bromance and more, I seriously recommend that drama!
Sorry, I couldn’t find a proper trailer 😦
