8 New K-Dramas to Watch in October 2024

October is my Birthday Month, so I’m honored to see so many great dramas coming out. Spin offs and dramas set in the past are the highlight of this month releases, punctuated with a touch of romance and thriller here and there. So, what’s on your watch-list in October?

October 3

Spice Up Our Love

Cast: Han Ji Hyun & Lee Sang Yi

Plot: Nam Ja Yeon (Han Ji Hyun) is a web novel writer, who ends up one day catapulted in her own story. In her spicy romance, she embodies a dietitian Seo Yeon Seo, who falls in love with her company CEO Kang Ha Jun (Lee Sang Yi). The drama is a spin-off from currently airing drama No Gain, No Love.

My Merry Marriage

Cast: Park Han Na, Park San Nam, Lee Yeon Doo & Kim Sa Kwon

Plot: Maeng Kong Hee (Park Han Na) inherited her mother’s strong will and her father’s physical ability, making her capable of surviving anything. She works at Jayce Fashion. There, she meets her childhood friend Gu Dan Soo (Park San Nam), the grandson of Jayce Fashion. Other employees are Kang Ji Na (Lee Yeon Doo) and Seo Min Ki (Kim Sa Kwon).

Plot: Kim San Ha (Hwang In Yeop), Yoon Joo Won (Jung Chae Yeon) and Kang Hae Joon (Bae Hyun Sung) were best friends when they were young to the point that they considered each other as family. After 10 years of being apart, they finally reunite and their love story unfolds.

Dong Jae, the Good or the Bastard

Plot: Seo Dong Jae (Lee Joon Hyuk) is an ambitious prosecutor and opportunist. Due to his reputation as a corrupt prosecutor, his future is unsure. So, he decides to take on a high school student murder case that makes him walk a fine line between ambition and intuition. The drama is a spin-off from the drama Stranger.

Doubt

Cast: Han Suk Kyu & Chae Won Bin

Plot: Jang Tae Soo (Han Suk Kyu) is a legendary criminal profiler in Korea who paved the way for the discipline in the country. He’s also a single parent who raises his daughter Jang Ha Bin (Chae Won Bin) alone. Matters get complicated when he takes on a case in which his daughter is involved. He hesitates to tell the truth to protect his daughter.

A Virtuous Business

Cast: Kim So Yeon, Kim Sun Young, Kim Sung Ryoung & Lee Se Hee

Plot: In the rural village of Geumje in 1992, Han Jung Sook (Kim So Yeon), Oh Geum Hee (Kim Sung Ryoung), Seo Young Bok (Kim Sun Young) and Lee Joo Ri (Lee Se Hee) start working in door-to-door sales for adult products. They all have their own reasons to enter the business, but gain independence and form friendship along the way.

One day, she sees the performance of Maeran Woman’s Gukguek Theatre Company and hides in their luggage to pursue her dream. She becomes a trainee and rival to Heo Young Seo (Shin Ye Eun).

Hellbound Season 2

Cast: Kim Sung Chul, Kum Hyun Joo & Kim Shin Rok

Plot: Following season 1, Hellbound starts with the ressurection of  Jung Jin Soo (Kim Sung Cheol), the leader of the cult Saejinrihwe, and Park Jung Ja (Kim Shin Rok). Meanwhile, Min Hye Jin (Kim Hyun Joo) continues her fight against the cult and the Arrowheads, as the secret group Sado emerges against the cult.
