Short reviews available for dramas released in 2017: 2

The Many Faces of Ito ⭐⭐ (2/5)
Country: Japan | Year: 2017 | Episode: 8 | Channel: TBS/MBS
Cast: Fumino Kimura, Nozomi Sasaki, Mirai Shida, Elaiza Ikeda & Kaho
Plot: Rio Yazaki is a screenwriter who gained popularity with her show ‘Tokyo Doll House’. However, she hasn’t written anything good since then. One day, she hands out questionnaires during a lecture and discovers that 4 women are dating the same man. She decides to write a story based on their romances.
Review: Though the plot seems interesting, the drama was extremely confusing at times for me. That’s why, I have mitigated feelings about it. On the one side, I liked the psychological aspect of the story, especially the analysis of 4 distinct relationships with 4 very different women. On the other side, the intrigue lost me (the relationship with Rio and her friend/colleague, the real face of Ito for instance). So, I’m not really convinced by the drama.

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon ⭐⭐ (2/5)
Country: Korea | Year: 2017 | Episode: 16 | Channel: JTBC
Cast: Park Hyung Sik, Park Bo Young & Ji Soo
Plot: Do Bong Soon is a young woman born with extraordinary strength. One day, An Min Hyuk sees her fighting against thugs and decides to hire her as his bodyguard. Indeed, he’s the CEO of a game company and has been receiving threats lately. While Min Hyuk falls for Bong Soon, she has a crush on her detective friend In Guk Doo.
Review: This romantic fantastic comedy is a must in Dramaland. First, the Bong-Bong Min-Min couple is iconic! These characters are a match made in Heaven and it’s really hilarious to see the soft and cute Min Hyuk fall for the super-strong but tender Bong Soon. And that includes him having to deal with her sometimes unwilling strength. Moreover, the love triangle is interesting and adds some spice to the story. Second, the plot is well-written and easy to follow. Finally, the side characters (aka the thugs played by Kim Won Hae and Im Won Hee) are simply the best. 100% recommended!
