Taxi Driver Season 3 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)
Country: Korea | Year: 2025-26 | Episode: 16 | Channel: SBS, Viki
Cast: Lee Je Hoon, Kim Eui Sang, Pyo Ye Jin, Jang Hyuk Jin & Bae Yoo Ram
Plot: Kim Do Ki, Jang Sung Chul, Ahn Go Eun, Choi Kyung Koo and Park Jin Eon are back in a new season to avenge people who suffered injustice.
Review: Don’t get me wrong, I loved the latest season of Taxi Driver. However, I think I liked it less tan the previous ones because it was a bit redundant. The cast is as amazing as ever, the cases are extremely interesting and the revenges are sensational. But I kind of had the impression that the episodes were built on the same logic (one slow episode to introduce the case and one action-packed to solve the issue). Contrary to other seasons, there wasn’t a main red thread in the plot (like the prosecutor chasing the team in season 1 or a big villain to take down in season 2), cases were just following each other. I also would’ve loved to have a deep dive into main characters’ lives. We know a bit about their past, essentially through cases they deal with, but they have no present story. For example, they have no current family, make no friends, don’t even date. I’m also convinced that Go Eun and Do Ki would make a fine pair because they have great chemistry. But nothing has happened in 3 seasons. I don’t want to turn the drama into a romance, but I think both genres are compatible. Considering the deep bond between these 2, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to expect some romantic entanglement. Apart from that, Taxi Driver remains one of the best action/revenge dramas ever. I particularly liked the incredible line-up in this season (Jang Na Ra, Show Kasamatsu, Yoon Shi Yoon to name a few) and the many crossovers between the cases (even between seasons like at the end). Humor is still there, amazing twists as well and Lee Je Hoon’s remains the king of disguise! The finale points out to a potential new season, so we’ll see!

Gannibal ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
Country: Japan | Year: 2022-2023 (Season 1) + 2025 (Season 2) | Episode: 15 | Channel: Disney+
Cast: Yuya Yagira & Show Kasamatsu
Plot: When Daigo Agawa arrives in Kuge Village to take over as police officer, he expects tranquility and peace of mind. Though the village and its inhabitants seem welcoming, weird events take place, all related to the powerful Goto family. So, Daigo starts investigating, not ready for what is about to find out.
Review: If you like dark shows with an eerie and frightening village ambiance, then Gannibal is definitely for you. The more I watched the drama, the crazier the show was. At first, you think the Goto family is the main problem, but you gradually realize that all villagers are insane too. The pace of the show accelerates from one season to another, so I just recommend you consider them as one big drama. Season 1 is a bit slower than season 2, but it’s a necessary evil to explain the tumultuous events that unfold. I especially loved Daigo, the police officer, and Keisuke, the young head of the Goto family. He had the worst dilemmas and the most complicated place in the show, pressurized by his duty as head and his conscience. I really hoped he would be free of this madness. The drama also does an excellent job at embedding folkloric beliefs, actual History and myths/legends into the narrative as a background justifying characters’ actions. All in all, Gannibal is an incredible drama that I highly recommend, but prepare your stomachs!

Peach Trap ⭐⭐ (2/5)
Country: Korea | Year: 2025 | Episode: 8 | Channel: Heavenly
Cast: Jung Su Bin, Cha Se Jin, Cha Yu Hyun & Lee Do Han
Plot: Yoo Do Ha is going through the biggest crisis of his life. At that same time, three men approach him. He gets caught up in a romance with each of these attractive men.
Review: Nothing peachy about this drama, the title is the actual trap! The plot is predictable and repetitive. I liked the idea of a love triangle (square?) at first, but you can easily guess who’s going to be the chosen one right from the start. There’s no suspense and no interesting twist following episode 1. The male lead is so dense and slow-witted, I’ve never seen a character take such a long time to understand others’ feelings for him. He’s also quite boring and lacks charm, as it seems he’s constantly tired of life. His roommate/best friend is possessive, jealous and so dramatic, like some scenes gave me the impression that Do Ha had been kidnapped because he was not picking up his phone. Not to mention his over-the-top reactions when he believes his crush may be in danger. I largely preferred Do Ha’s boss who was sweet and patient. Even the cafe owner was better than the friend. By the way, I think he’s been wronged throughout the entire show. Poor man was accused of not having real feelings, took a punch for no reason and was guilt-tripped all along. Why? I wouldn’t recommend the drama. The first episode is the only one worth it, but you will then slowly lose interest.
